The income tax situation is attractive in TN, SC, and FL. The winters are even more attractive.
But even heading west will sole some taxation issues. We think SD is a wonderful place and very well may end up there. When the bigger kids graduate in 5 years we will look more closely. Heading west in Oct and will probably look more in-depth then. 'Hope you find what you're looking for, Tom.

But I think I'd want to live close to the Gulf. There are just too damn many people there for me to like it I think. But man could I get used to that fishing in the Gulf!

I did notice some of that on the east side of the state. Maybe I wasn't in the area long enough but I was up near Punta Gorda fishing with a friend, who now lives there. I may be wrong. Most kept to themselves that I met. But I think there are just too many people there for me to live there all the time. I damn sure could for a 4-6 months though!

I'm considering moving north for retirement. Do it. You only have to adjust slightly from stress management to survival mode. It's a self sufficient person's paradise. lol!
