Guys,

After shooting bxroads rock, I have the bug for a heavy gun. I do not really want to build one and I do not really want to come out of pocket $$$. I want to try to trade. EDITED TO ADD FOR SALE PRICES>

What I want:
I am looking for a heavy 223 similar to a Rock in design. Open to most makes but prefer Remington.

What Ive got:
Not Availible 1.USMC take off smear pattern (numbers do not match).
SPF 2. 700 RH SA standard bolt face barreled ation in 243, BDL with trigger and bottom metal. Older model I think A prefix. Gloss blue in good condition.
3. Mickey Coleman 25-06 built from an older 700. 23.5 Douglas #3 XX stainless barrel, trued action, bedded into McMillan KS take off stock painted dark tan with black webbing by Rick, tuned trigger. I have not handloaded for this rifle but it shoots 100 BT federal loads into 3/4. Should do better with handloads. Shot 20 times.
$1,100
4. Zeiss 3.5x10x 44 Conquest. Currently mounted in talley lw on 25-06. Should be free of ring marks, it was nib when mounted. $450
5. Beretta cx4 9mm carbine. Shot less than 100 rounds. $400

I would like to trade any combination of items for a heavy 223 with a fast twist barrel. I am open to any offers you can think of cash one way or the other is not a problem.

Thanks

Fletch

Fletch,

I have a Rem 700 LTR in .223 that has about 60 rounds through it. The rifle is all original except for the trigger which I had professionally adjusted by a local gunsmith (Chris Matthews @ Longshot Rifles). I also had Chris re-crown the rifle (which I do on all my new rifles). The LTR has a 20" heavy barrel that is fluted and has a 1-9 twist. They also have a factory h-S Precision stock. You can get additional info on the LTR at http://www.remingtonle.com/rifles/700pltr.htm.

I would potentially be interested the 25-06 and or the scope. Did Mickey true the action when the barrel was installed? Also, has it been bedded? If you have any pictures of the rifle, that would be great. Thanks!

Brett
