Walmart Inc. stopped selling AR-15 guns, and other semi-automatic weapons in 2015. It doesn't sell bump stocks, the accessory attached to a semi-automatic gun that makes it easier to fire rounds faster. It also doesn't sell large-capacity magazines.
The retailer says it is also removing items resembling assault-style rifles from its website.
Dick's Sporting Goods announced earlier Wednesday that it would restrict the sale of firearms to those under 21 years old. It didn't mention ammunition.

Let's see. An 18-21 year old can be trusted with hand grenades, various machine guns, true assault rifles. Maybe be a gunner on a tank or a riverboat.

Our Walmart quit selling guns - too much "internal loss".
Instead of firing and prosecuting the thieves, they quit carrying the product! Absolutely NO corporate cojones, and won't even BEGIN to support the customer base.
I'm convinced they are searching out the lowest common denominator - and approaching success, quickly.

They won't sell guns to any one under the age of 21. But, they will enjoy all the safety, freedom and prosperity made possible by the millions of 18 to 20 year old boys who have worn our nations military uniforms and carried a rifle as they went to fight because our nations leaders told them to and many died.
Sorry bean counting self serving bottom dollar counting cowards disgust me. All they are concerned with is a boycott. I can live just fine with out Wally World and any other knee bending place.
If they really wanted to help this country and make it safer they should help figure out a way to legally keep the millions of idiot liberals they are catering to from voting.
Damn people/companies like this make me grouchy, sorry.

To tell the truth I do support this. Personally do not care to see AR weapons in these stores. Then if I started my own gun smithing and or firearms sales operation I am not sure I would be offering to sell or service The AR type firearms to share my frank outlook. When I go to the range to target shoot I have to admit I am a bit uncomfortable with the prevalence of this type of weapons I am seeing the younger crowd is attracted to today.
I do not have to like it and do not have to support it. Same would be true for Dicks and Walmart the way I see this.
Not like this alone will change things much as others are liking this firearm platform and servicing them better than the box stores ever will. JMHO

Where is the legality of this? When people who refuse to bake a gay cake for gay people get in so much trouble all the way to the SCOTUS, how can these say even though the law says different, we are selling to 18-20 year olds?

By current law an 18 year old can buy a rifle in most states. In such a state any business selling to the public that restricts sales of firearms by some age they make up themselves may be in violation of same laws that prevent them from not selling to blacks or gays. I would like to see someone test this. Find someone 18 to less than 21 and go to Dicks and try to purchase some hunting rifle and get video of the whole thing. Then show it to some lawyer and see if there's a case. Could be worth some money.
