Here is one I thought I would never sell, but it is just sitting in the safe, I am not sure when I will ever get to use it and I just found another rifle I would like to buy. So, here goes.

This is a Pre-War Winchester 70 action that has been rebarreled by the late (and great) gunsmith Howard Dietz.

The rear bridge has been drilled (on top) for scope mounts (Warne bases are installed), but the action does not have any other holes added. The barrel is a post-64 375 H&H barrel complete with sights, and the barreled action has been bedded and floated in a black McMillan stock.

*Pictures will be posted tonight.

I know everyone wants to see pictures, but I have been going back and forth on selling this one and this post will get the ball rolling.

$1300 shipped

PM me with any additional questions.

Thanks

It was re-barreled with a take-off Winchester barrel? Is that what I'm seeing?

Yes. That is correct.

I have seen a few examples of these builds down here in central Texas.

PM’s returned.

Not really looking for trades, but could always use another Leupold 3.5-10x40 in partial trade.

Do you need a short firing pin for it?

I do not know how this thing shoots., nor do I know about the firing pin length.

I am going to pull this rifle for the time being and do some load development for it.

In the event I should decide to sell it in the future, I'll share what I find.

Thanks for the interest.
