I have lived in NC all 49 years that I have been on this rock. It has always been run by the Democrats up until maybe 20 years ago, Many local governments are democratic. but they were some what conservative as far as the social issues went. Once the biotech, pharma and computer fields took off, you started to get the influx of northerners and their more liberal views. they moved to areas and demanded more and more things 'like they had up north' and started to vote in the local elections and get more and more of their northern counter parts into positions of power and it fed on its self. My parents live right down the road from one of the most liberal and worst governors this state has ever seen......Jim Hunt. Nice guy, but a total liberal shill.......
As to doppy Roy, he was a sham as AG of NC and is worse as a governor. Unfortunately, we do not have the power of direct ballot initiative here due to the way our constitution is set up. I fully expect the Dems to take back the state soon due to the judicial activism in place in regards to the redistricting that the court has stuck its nose in and appointed a liberal to draw the districts. The large cities like Raleigh, Charlotte, Winston Salem, Greensboro, Durham, and Asheville are overtaking the rural areas and turning the state the wrong color.

Bullshit.. RTP, Duke, and Chapel Hill have been flooding the area with imports lately. Closer to 10 percent.

Quit pizzing and moaning about that small influx. Nevada is now mostly CA transplants who came as economic refugees, not political ones. They brought their perverted ideas with them and have destroyed the once freest State in the Union.

Pizzing and moaning is exactly what we will do lest NC turn in to the same limp dick bastion of liberals that kept sending Harry Reid to Washington for a generation. Fúck you and the pygmy goat you road in here on.

Mike

How in the hell did this Mealy MOuthed POS get voted in ?

Our Republican Governor got the blame for a toll road/interstate widening that is and has been creating misery north of Charlotte. He lost the I77 corridor and thus the election. Cooper is a disgusting pos!

When the piece of filth was running for office he did his campaign ads standing in front of an old barn and a Farmall tractor, like he is some kind of good ol boy. He is a piece of garbage that tried to hang a Charlotte police officer for personal/political gain. He tried to ruin that man's life and should burn in hell for it.

Roy Cooper has been a lame duck since the day he was elected. The Republican legislature controls the state, effectively making Cooper a political eunuch - they didn't give a rats ass what the last governor, a moderate Republican thought and they damn sure could care less what Cooper wants. He can call for anything he wants - it won't pass, virtually nothing he has proposed has passed since he was sworn in. All Roy Cooper BS, just trying to get back in the public eye. Now, if he and the Dems can convert the legislature to Dems, then we will have a problem - just like any state that has a Dem legislature and a Dem governor. That is what the gerrymandering lawsuit has been all about - creating DEM districts to put the bastards in power.

Cooper is a gasbag, what a piece of garbage. No chance of any of it passing.
