I wonder if the handlers of these precious little idiots ever stopped to think that by holding a nation wide walkout today that they were creating a potential fish in a barrel situation for another shooter. All outside, all in a group, and we announce the exact time to the world. A shooter wouldn’t even have to get out of the car. But I guess to them more bodies would really help the cause.

They are still getting some mileage out of the Parkland shooting.

The kids are pretty safe until all that drops out of the headlines.

When it does fall out of the media limelight, is when it'll happen again.

Some of the ones here had the maintenance vehicles parked around the front of the schools,so it also tied up more personel.

At least at some schools I hear it was a mandatory event unless prior parental permission was obtained not to attend.

I told the superintendent’s mouthpiece that very thing along with a few other things.lol My middle school aged daughter and my sophomore son stayed in class and did their work. The last few days they’ve been given a history lesson, starting from about 1770 until now. 😉. They know that without the 2A there no other “rights”.

The people that are raising school shooters are the same ones that excused their children from school so that they could protest. My daughter said she watched kids use it as excuse to ditch school or jump the fence to go smoke. Those parents gave those kids permission to leave and they’re so proud of their little snowflakes for being so socially progressive while the stupid little fawks are skipping school and self-medicating out in the woods....

That is hearsay, and I would expect better from you "adults".

Student, (president of student body), saying that this was not about politics.

What pisses me off more than anything is the way they exploit the kids and use them for their political agenda.

Our schools and our kids are in trouble. That's a fact.

Our school and district did NOT support the walkout and preferred that it not go forward but they ultimately knew that if the students that did have a permission slip to leave for the protest there wasn’t much they could do. The kids NEEDED THEIR PARENTS PERMISSION.....that’s what disgusts me. We live in a rural agricultural area and while there were not many here that participated I’m ashamed that any did. My daughter didn’t know anyone that did participate and the vast majority here stayed in class but liberalism is a disease and I don’t want it catching on here. Unfortunately there’s some overflow from the toilet that is Seattle and we get our fair share of liberals here, I’m just glad that my kids have good taste in friends because we all hunt together. 😁

Yes, people tend to listen to their peers, or what they are taught, especially children.
Key word here is "children."

My 15 year old thought it was stupid, and laughed at them going out in the cold. About 30 out of 700 kids.
The deal is pretty simple, mostly, kids are people just not sophisticated.

It's interesting that they want "common sense gun control" but can't seem to define what that is. Confiscate all AR15s? There are probably 10 or 20 million of 'em. Do that and you've probably won your last election, ever.

And what about actually protecting schools? The New York "Slimes" editorialized against turning our schools into "armed garrisons." Ridiculous. Is your bank an armed garrison? Your plant site? And even if it were, the kids would be safe.

Want to protect school children?
Look to where that is being accomplished.
Same as preventing airplane hijackings.

It is either important enough to do it, or is is not. Apparently "not" is the answer so far.
If this country can spend hundreds of millions giving out free abortions, they can spend what it takes to make our children already born safe at school.
It will have to become important enough to do it, then it can be done.
