Whilst rooting around, I came across my stash of old copper pennies. I figure that they might as well be earning their keep, so I think what I'll do is, each night, tape them to my body, covering as much as I can and let them work while I sleep. Can you imagine how rejuvenated and pain-free I'll be in the mornings? With that many, I might even reverse the aging process!

Great idea, but that would cost money, and these are just sitting around.

According to advertising and believers, that is a real possibility.

Somewhere around here I have some old steel pennies from WW 2...

bet I've had them 40 plus years, hence why I haven't a clue where they might be sitting..

recently came across a jar of change left in an old footlocker full of stuff from when I was in the Army...

kinda like a time capsule.... none of the change was newer than 1975... the stuff has been in that foot locker
since 1977....

also have one of those old potato chip cans full of pennies from the same era...

all collected from late 60s to mid 70s.... guess there is nothing but copper pennies in those also...

You sparked a "remembory" for me. When I was but a lad, my Mom had a quart jar full of Indian Head pennies. I wonder whatever happened to them...

There was also a cowboy bar/restaurant called the Copper Penny in Clovis NM when I was stationed there in 1970. Another remembory, but from 20 years later.

Many years ago, bout 60, I had a shop teacher that collected buffalo nickels. He had 3- 5 gal buckets full of them and was working on filling a 4th bucket.

Tape them into the shape of a hat and wear it. Way better than tin foil. So much more conductive. Just don't go out in a thunderstorm.

I remember when coins used to jingle. Not any more. It’s sad. Now they just sound like electrical slugs.

Silver coins do have a nice ring to them.

I think that steel was 1943. 1944 was shell-case copper.

Back in the late sixties or early seventies, the bank in Laurens had a pyramid made of transparent yellow canisters filled with 10,000 steel cents.
