Picked up a new scope for my .338 LM and made a quick run to the range to get a zero.

5-25X56 PMII S&B, in a NEAR Alpha Mount.

Possibly the best five shot 100 yard group I've ever done. The two five shot groups at 200 were both around .5"

This load produces 2800fps. The rifle is a beast, and weighs right at 20 lbs. Ready for the Icebreaker!

Smoke,

I finally found the one thing in life I can do well.

Pat is good enough to let me "showcase" my talent.

Just hope I won't have to do it in snowshoes this year!

smile

Nice set up there and awesome group!

I'm guessing the pronghorns in MT hope you don't draw a tag! I still chuckle about the post you made about them liking to sit in the middle of old lakebeds and thinking they were safe. laugh

Sweet That is amazing group. I have a TRG 42 338 Lapua best ever was 1/2 inch group. That rifle will group well at 1000yds.

Thanks! I've had the rifle for nine years, and had robbed an identical scope off of it for another project. A few weeks back, I ended up with a good deal on this S&B. I've kicked around the thought of selling the rifle a few times the past two or three years. I think I'll keep it!

The best group I ever shot with it was 5", five shots at 1250 meters, on a large steel plate. It's a challenge to shoot, lots of muzzle blast, concussion, and plenty of recoil even though it's heavy, and has a good brake on it.

It was 1260, not 1250.....;)

300gr Berger is a heck of a .338 bullet.
