I was going to buy aone when the first came out but I read a few reviews from folks that bought it and they all said the leupolds range finder was a POS.

To those that have handled the LRF and CRF,
Is the CRF too light to easily stabilize on a distant target? Price aside, if weight/size wasn't a major concern would one be better off getting the LRF?
Thanks, Sam

I'm none too steady, and have no problem ranging to over 1k yards with the CRF. I even tried shaking it on purpose, and there was little difference. Thing must have a hell of a laser on it.
Great piece of equipment. I can say (and have heard) nothing but good about it. The new leupold RF's on the other hand, I've heard almost unanimously bad reports about.
I don't have a wide range of experience with RF's, only having a POS Bushnell before, but can say without a doubt you couldn't possibly be disappointed with the Leica. It just flat works, and works well.
Guns are responsible for killing as much as Rosie O'Donnel's fork is responsible for her being FAT.

Thanks Dave, Good report. Sounds like the CRF is the way to go. I really need to get one this summer. Sam

I have one. Don't have the time right now to describe it. I'll answer anything anyone wans to know. I have an RX-IV and have used it a lot.
I love it. Couldn't have wished for anything more.

I have an RX-III... No complaints. works well, and seems a good buy for me. Waterproof, and has the uphill, downhill angle feature, which works remarkably well. I would buy it again...

I got the Leica CRF 1200 a few months ago. All I can say is I'm extremely pleased with it. I was first looking at the Leupold's because I'm a big fan of their scopes. But after some research and statements from others on the web, I'm glad I went with Leica. Very good info. on the major rangefinders in my previous post including Leupold and Leica.

I got a new CRF 1200, have had a bunch of the other ones, not the Leupy though. I may leave my binos home this spring for turkey hunting, the Leica is that good.
