Mayby you're not using them correctly? The guys over in the lever action section all love them I don't know if it's the case or not ,but is it possible it's because the lever action guys aren't dialing a lot. Just a thought since a lever isn't usually a long range gun.

I shot a buck in 2016 with a NightForce 2.5-10x42mm NXS Illuminated Compact Riflescope w/ ZeroStop and MOAR Reticle C458 Sold by: OpticsPlanet, Inc $1,892.00 On a 1953 Win M70 with Shilen Select match in 25-06 with Bansner stock
I shot a buck in 2017 with a Leupold VX-6HD 3-18x44mm CDS-ZL2 FireDot Duplex 171565 Sold by: OpticsPlanet, Inc $1,499.00 On a 1965 Rem700 with Lilja barrel in 7mmRemMag with Brown Precision stock
They are approximately the same price, the Leupold is just a much better scope than the NXS. No disrespect here, but drinking your own bathwater comes to mind.

Sounds more like he's drinking his own bong water.

Over hyped, over priced, underachieving. Far better to be had.

I had come upon two 3x9 Leupolds. The Leupold invoice on one with "0" balance is here in hand. Separate Bubba's had mounted the scopes. The rings, one set of Redfields and one of Ruger's. The rings were tighten all the way down on one side and tethered with red Loctite. Local gunsmith outfit had to bore the screws out of the rings. These guys saved rings and scope for another day. This scope , a VX-11 3x9x40 would not hold zero and was returned to Leupold. The erector system was reworked along with Selector. This scope was subjected to no telling how much abuse. The repaired scope was mounted on a #1B and is working wonderfully. All this has to do with normal use. From experience these scopes, for my use, work well. If not they are repaired or replaced. For me, average guy, They work just fine. I have vintage 8x and 16x mounted of varmint rifles in use today....no problems. Have had each over thirty years. Remember the opposite of hate is not love. The opposite is apathy.
