Looking at her picture - I think she's a little funny in the head.

A department or program can also be unfunded. She could perhaps continue to exist on soft money, but I suspect there's little to be had in that arena. She is a little to arrogant for her own good.

If one makes contact, I'd suggest expressing serious displeasure, but stay a step above Jarrar's level and keep things civil. Remember that e-mails are most likely an archived and therefore permanent record.

If one has some California political connections, displeasure from the funding source can cause university types to seriously squirm.

Sirs:
I am fine with the fact we’re blessed with a right to free speech in this nation. While I find Prof Randa Jarrar’s recent comments distasteful, she is entitled to such. I feel, however, she crossed the line by expressing invincibility due to her association with the university. This an extreme embarrassment for a publicly funded entity, especially so if those opinions and their delivery involved use of state funded time or resources. I urge the issue be given a thorough investigation, and that she be dismissed in short order if that is the case.

I do??? We differ on many issues, but I certainly respect the Bush family for their service and honesty (OK, maybe Neal Bush dimmed the glow with his Silverado Savings & Loan involvement in the 1980's.)

I have a hard time getting worked up about this. Someone employed by a University in California expresses hatred and intolerance to someone who is unlike them.
