Guess I'm just too chicken to go out on the ice this time of year. I've got one batch of fish left in the freezer. We'll just wait till the ice is gone.

I like that our season never closes. I took home a limit of 16-18" last monday. turkey numbers are a little down so I probably won't fill all my tags for them. looks like I'll have to focus on the walleyes. I hope you guys warm up. I'm about to mow my lawn for the second time already.

Lake across the road from my house is wiiiiiiiide open.

I think the ice will be mostly gone down here by tomorrow night. The guys were fishing off the Lake Marion bridge along 35 in Lakeville today.

'Went by Marion and Prior yesterday. Marion was ice free-Prior getting close. 'Wonder when the crappies will move into the docks and trees?

I was thinking the same thing Tom. Gonna have to try to get out this Sunday. We're going up north again Saturday looking at property.

Fish Lake is Ice free, as of Monday. I'll be putting the docks out soon. My boy is also wondering when the fish will start moving in..

Fish the brushy north bays. You'll probably pick up and eyeball too. They have to go back of course.

I thought the water temp had to be in the mid fifties before they move in?

I always thought it was 45’ish. I could be wrong. But the north bays should be getting close either way now. They’ll group up for preseason anytime now. I don’t think you’ll be seeing any beds yet though.

Yeah, from what I've read, between 50 and 56* is when they start stacking up and feeding in the shallows before the official spawn. I've always wanted to do the old cane pole thing on spawning crappies. That would be a hoot!
