THIS

a fast twist .223AI and a 62 grain Barnes TSX is all you need under 300 ( thats anything under 300 pounds under 300 yards...)

I have one of each. I have probably killed 50 deer with the 270, one with the 6.5CM. If I was wanting to shoot long range targets, say over 500 yards......steel or paper, not game.....I'd pick the 6.5, because it would be a better choice. Otherwise, it ain't worth arguing about.

I'll keep the 270 until the day I die, even though I rarely ever shoot it anymore. I can't say that about the Creedmoor.

Putting the "gay" BS aside (fake news). If your shoulder requires light recoil and you still wish to hunt then the 6.5 CM starts to look like a great solution! Use proven loads and practice shoot the ranges you will hunt to stay within that oft talked about 9" circle. Then limit shots on game to the range where you hit outside that. At that point it does not make a lot of difference whether you shoot a 6.5 or 270. Do yourself and the game a favor and draw the line below dangerous game regardless of laws or lack thereof. Mac

I don't have a creed.

I would love(no I really don't give a schit) to see you shoot against guys who enjoy shooting and practice with their snowflake rifles. I know you big gun fellas love to make things bigger than they are but deer are small and not that hard to kill. Has nothing to do with being pansies and everything to do with knowing how to shoot.

I don't have a 6.5 creedmoor but do have a 6mm creedmoor because I felt it was a better choice when I rebarreled my 243

I bought a 6.5 Creed , shot some factory ammo and loaded some rounds for it, shot it some and really found it did nothing for me. Using actual hunting bullets the BC’s aren’t that great and the sub 2800 FPS velocity didn’t make me giggly. It seems like a fun long range plinking gun but for big game hunting there just seems to be so many options. There’s no fly’s on a 270 Win launching 150 partitions at 2900 and change. If a guy is sold on experimenting with the hybrid high BC target/hunting bullets and shooting out past 500 yards is your thing then on paper the creed looks good, but that’s really about it. I dont see where it outperforms a half a dozen other rounds for the average deer hunter who likely shoots most deer inside 300 yards. But to each their own.

I have no interest in the Creedmoor at all. It is not in the .270 WCF class and with a fast twist barrel and bullet it would outperform it at any range .In the meantime my .270's are pushing 3040 fps/ 150 gr Partition/ 22" barrel. That is significant, imo

The 6.5 CM causes way more crying and whining here than the 270. It would remind you of a 7th grade girls slumber party. When the 270 is mentioned, it is often followed by the word "gay" at worst. When the 6.5CM is mentioned, we get a lecture, seminar, schematic, etc of how it's nothing new, same old rebadged schittt, "snowflake" cartridge, etc, etc, etc. The ultimate blubbery cryfest is when you throw this out there.......TIKKA 6.5 Creedmoor. When that combo is mentioned, I'm convinced half of the 24HCF does this:

It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

After serious consideration I believe the 6.5 Creedmoor should be crowned the campfire gay cartridge.

The 270 should be restored to manly status! .............;)

You can’t just “change” the .270. It was born that way.

Lots of folks insecure about their sexuality on this site... would add, ascribing human characteristics to an inanimate object, in the words of Freud, is fuukking stupid.

Uh thanks, pretty sure I know that... it’s also fuukking stupid.

That’s the pig-latin translation...
