I'm thinking of parting with a very nice Sako L-469 Standard Model. robably 95% or better, with a couple small areas of bluing fading on the top of the barrel.
Blonde stock with a couple of very small marks. Sako 222 Remington Mag magazine; original Sako medium mounts.
Would a price in the $1,500 range be too high?

I'm guessing that $1500 is too high. If we start with Sako's in 222, while some have asking prices in that range I don't see them move. The ones I've followed seem to gain traction with an starting price more in the $1250 range and I suspect that the seller comes down somewhat putting the actual selling price more in the $1100 to $1200 range. This of course depends on condition and wood as well as presence of rings. Then we're left with the question of the impact of the Magnum over the standard 222. I know that if this were a NIB Kimber 84 the mag would be a premium however as a shooter Sako I'm inclined to feel the reverse might be true. Just one man's thoughts for consideration...

Non-Heavy Barrel?
Anything but high height original Sako rings aren’t terribly useful. I value low and medium height original Sako rings as a source of spare screws, knurled knobs and clamp brackets.
The mags are sought after.
Has the stock been refinished? It sort of looks like polyurethane.
That rifle should be worth a grand (if not refinished). That said, you’d be selling into a really soft market.

How about pictures of the apologies (fading bluing, nicks, dings, mashed checkering, etc.).

What’s Hanco have to do with this? Did he just post the pictures for SRShooter? Are those pictures of the rifle described by the OP?

I have trouble posting pics---Hanco kindly volunteered to post them. The bluing fading is minor, and aren't easily captured on film. One small surface mark, and no mashed checkering. I believe that the finish is original.
All being considered, at only a grand, I'll keep it for my walkabout varmint getter. I have dies, lots of brass and loaded ammo. And it's accurate, as most Sakos are.
Thanks for all of your comments---I appreciate them.

Nice gun and just be careful of people knocking your rifle. Sometimes they do that so that they can buy it for their collection or to sell later. I would keep it for a while if I couldn't get $1200 for it.
