If they were all Savages, that would make perfect sense. You WISH you had some 99's. Watched some Triple Mag hunting shows on YouTube. The Dad was hunting with a Savage 99 topped with a 60's era Weaver. It was in great shape.

It must have. The review I read from American Rifleman posted a best average group using Barnes Vor-Tx .308 with a 150 TTSX of 1.4" and among the five 5 shot groups of that ammo, only one was barely sub MOA at .96". Hornady and Winchester ammo opened the average out to 1.82. Definitely not a Cooper.
I have been thinking about spinning off several of my rifles to get a Cooper Back Country in 6.5x284. The Serengeti alone should cover it, but I rebarreled it and it's a one holer now, so I don't think I could part with that one. There are others.
