With the problems getting brass I am regretfully considering rebarreling/rechambering to a more popular chambering. Is this something that is viable or am I pretty much stuck with what I have?

A 300 WSM ought to do it.

270 WSM will also do, and someone recently rebarreled their WSM to the new 6.5 PRC. I believe you can do the same with the SAUMs as well, but since you’re looking for ammo/brass availability, 300 or 270 WSM would be the most available choices currently. If I were you I’d just make 7 WSM brass from the more easily obtainable 300 WSM brass as it’s easily done.

This really isn't all that hard. A Sharpie will correct the headstamp... And if a guy is really concerned with having correctly-headstamped brass, Hornady is now making 7WSM.

The op is making it sound like it's impossible to find 7wsm brass and ammo. It's not..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I had the same problem a couple years back. It's good to hear ammo is available again. Brass is still a bit of a pain to find if you want the correct headstamp. The last batch of 100 is Hornady stuff from Cabela's of all places. It'll be used to make enough hunting ammo for the rest of my life. Reformed 300 wsm brass is used for practice shooting. It works well.

I paid $2 for each piece of Win 7 WSM brass that I could get off the net. Fortunately, I now have enough factory new brass for the next two barrels. Yeah it was worth it at the time because I love the 7WSM. Completely shot my Broughton barrel out and just had a new Bartlein installed.

Must be the firm entrenchment of the 7mm Rem Mag that has caused the commercial failure of both the 7mm WSM and the 7mm SAUM.
It kinda sucks because both those short 7mm cartridges are straight-up tits, as far as I’m concerned, and the best of the WSM and SAUM commercial families.
A guy should be able to load for either if he has a desire to, though.
What could be a sadder way to end a life than to die having never hunted with great dogs, good friends and your family?

My best 7 wsm brass is stuff t made from Norma 300 wsm brass. Just run in the sizing die and form a little shoulder down the neck to head space on and fire a moderate load. After that it's good to go for 4-5 loads then aneal the neck and shoot 4-5 more times.

The 7mm WSM is a great round; just buy a goodly supply of brass, nurture it, love it, take care of it, reload it & live happily ever after. 200-300 pieces of brass should last a lifetime................find a good load or 2, & leave it alone. You don't have to shoot a 100 rounds ever week with it; that's what lighter weight rounds are for. MM

This makes two threads so far this morning where the OP is counseled to stick with what he's got and not spend a bunch of money.
A disturbing trend........

A disturbing trend........ My initial thought was the same - to make a "not spend a bunch of money" recommendation. After some consideration and a little research, I decided that, if it were me, I'd ditch the 7mm WSM. The 7mm WSM is not well supported by manufacturers and never will be. A rebarrel or rechamber/rebore to .300WSM are both viable options. If a rechamber/rebore, the barrel would need to be set back about .24" minimum to clean up the chamber. Another option would be a rebarrel to 6.5 PRC. If it turned out to be cheaper to sell or trade to get a new rifle, that is probably the route I would take.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

What kind of “support” is missing? New off the shelf factory rifles.. Otherwise Coyote Hunter is rather clueless about both reloading and factory ammo options..
It's a great life if you don't weaken..
