Why wouldn’t you just carry a rifle.

I've never cared for this genre of firearm, be it XP100, TC Contender or this thing. I'm sure it'll appeal to somebody though.

That said, if I had one I would probably have some fun playing with it for a while, then it would gather dust. I've considered such things in the past, but I've never been able to come up with an adequate reason to get one (and believe me, it doesn't really take me a really good reason to justify buying some gun I want.>)

Me too. I always wanted an XP100, but never got around to buying one.

I like it, but the MSRP will scare away most folks.
The XP-100, while not a "Custom" handgun filled a real need when the handgun metallic silhouette game was popular. There are a lot of 7BR XP-100's still out there if you look for them...

While I have always been intrigued by the hand rifle concept, this seems a bit overgrown. My Savage Striker in 17 HMR w/ 10" barrel is balanced pretty well and I enjoy shooting it quite a bit. The MOA Maximum was about the best iteration of the concept ever marketed.

I like it, though I'd prefer it in more manageable chamberings. The MSRP isn't surprising, given what HS-Precision charges for their single-shot bolt-action pistols, and compared with the cost of a custom XP-100 build, particularly if using one of the newer Remington clone actions. These bolt-action handguns are not for those who insist upon their handguns always being "handy." Insert pithy Clint Smith / Jeff Cooper-line here. Insert "just carry a rifle" line here. This debate was had between Bob Milek and Ross Seyfried in the pages of Guns & Ammo some thirty-years ago and little new has been said since. The article was titled "Is there an Ideal Hunting Handgun?" and appeared in the April 1987 issue. Seyfried made the case for belt-carried wheelguns and Milek made the case for XP-100/TC Contender based handguns. Who I agree with depends on the day of the week

I love the XP 100 original. Never cared for the rear grip style. With a good carry pack the gun is very user friendly.

That's impressive.......... But I already have a 15" Encore handgun in 7mm-08 and when I saw the MSRP on the Nosler the Encore suddenly started looking better.
