This classic all original rifle is in very good condition, it functions perfectly with no rust or pitting anywhere and light scratches from hunting and safe. There is a small amount of wear from carrying. My uncle bought it new in late 60's or early 70's and hunted with it for a couple years before passing away. I shot a few boxes from it and hunted a few years with it then put it away myself many years ago. Time for it to get back in the woods.... The holes have been plugged since the original sights were removed over 40 years ago so the threads should be fine. Unfortunately, I don't know where the sights went...
It's all the same rifle and is right handed. I am a lefty and don't think they ever made a left hand action in 742 carbine. Sorry for the confusion, have no idea how they got so flipped around.
