Just got back from a week in V.N.P. We had a great trip the weather was as nice as we have had up there in years. Bugs were not a problem and the fish were actually biting for both the wife and me.
Those are some nice fish tzone.

Awesome TJAY! I have never been up there to camp. I fished in Kab in 1999 but that's about it.
I have noticed that we don't have many bugs around this year either. Kinda nice.

Just got back from Lac Seul and it was beautiful weather up there too. Great time with lots of fish. Came home to a bear running around the neighborhood which is cool.
Dont jinx the lack of bugs please!
As I write this I can hear the MN State High School Trap Tournament going on. My daughter shoots in it this weekend. anybody know any kids shooting in it?

Nope, we stay at Mahkwa. It was a great stay all the way around except for some idiot sweeping (yes, sweeping) Highway 502 halfway between Fort Frances and Dryden at the bottom of a hill on a corner. He was halfway out in my lane and a car was coming. Big time adrenaline rush. Why in the world was he sweeping a road that wasn't even dirty in the middle of a wilderness??????

I haven't been following it but there are a couple of kids from Delano that shoot summer and winter league that probably made it. One of them is pretty set on going to nationals.

i'll be heading to Alex today for the trap shoot. my youngest will be there. he had the invite to go to nationals too but that's quite the roadtrip and he said maybe next time. Go Roseau!

Happy birthday Jack! Nationals are in Michigan this year. It would be fun but it's been a horrendous year for us so we are bowing out this year. Fun sport for these kids. Good to see this for kids!

Inviting that young man to your camp, is something he will never forget. I lost my dad at 15, and a friends father, did the same for me,,,,,,,, I also have a camp in SW Wis and in the UP, so I am very blessed, enjoy and have fun
