So I have been saving up gift cards for the last two years and finally pulled the trigger on one today.
I am intrigued by the Hot and Fast method of cooking. A buddy is on a competition BBQ team and says the drums are really taking over and taking in a lot of awards. I currently use a Weber WSM and get excellent results but was really close to buying a pellet cooker until I was reading about all the mechanical problems with them. I like the simplicity of the drums. I am looking forward to getting more sleep!
Anyone have any experience with them?

I use the Pit Barrel Cooker. My wife says it makes the best BBQ chicken I have made in 48 years of cooking. I have also done brisket, poke ribs, pork belly, and a whole turkey. Look at videos on You Tube.

There were drums all over the last KCBS we cooked in. They did well.

Remove the water pan on the wsm and u will get the drum effect...... This works great. You can cook at 375 degrees or more without the water pan. Line the inside bottom of the WSM before you do it.

I bolted another charcoal ring on top of the old one on my WSM. With a lined water pan can smoke an 8 pound pork shoulder without refueling. Dave

I tried going vegan, but then realized it was a big missed steak.

Mike Judges tastes do change back and forth over time. Here at home, we like to vary recipes and cooking methods also. It took me a long time to convince my wife that a good bite on ribs is better than over tender mush. The competition guys do know texture. I am with them. The WSM is a more versatile unit.
