Well the Alex trap team did really good and will go down to the cities as one of the top 40 teams to compete for the championship. They were awesome on their first 2 rounds but had to shoot in a downpour in their last 2 rounds so they were down a bit and finished with a 487/500. Not bad, but they had hopes of breaking the all time record I think. My daughter started slow and finished about at her average. Some great shooters out there that is for sure. if you shot a 98/100, you weren't even in the top 3 for that DAY! Over 8,000 high school shooters at the 9 day tourney. Pretty cool.

That is impressive! Only 4 or 5 did that of the 8,000+ that were here. Tomorrow is the individual tourney as well as the state championship!

I saw the picture they posted on facebook. the kid's dad is a hot rodder friend of mine, he (the dad) was wearing one of our shaw classic auto works t shirts in the picture. lol

I believe I saw every 1957 Chevy that has ever been restored. They were all lined up waiting to get in the MN State Fairground this morning for Back To The 50's car show.

Looks like no Wy. antelope this year, 4 points was not enough . Oh well just have to get the deer camp set up this year and do some trimming. Ok a lot after last years wet snow and wind event.

We have 3 or 4 schools that shoot trap at the gun club I belong too and sure is great to see the young shooters having fun.

I got my Black Hills, SD deer tag in a few days ago TJay. I have 4 points for it. Hopefully it’s my turn. If not I’m going to bow hunt WI for the first time in a long time.

The tag I really want i haven’t been able to draw for 4 years of trying. I’m hoping to draw this one for a distraction for the West River tag. 😂. Not really, I have wanted to hunt deer in the Black Hills since I was about 12-13 years old. I’m not looking for a monster buck. I’m looking for a great time, looking to hunt some beautiful country, and maybe shoot a deer to bring home.

I did a bunch of black hills deer hunts before the tags go so hard to get and even more over the boarder in region A in Wyoming. A couple of years I had tags in both and camped right on the SD/ Wy state line and hunted both states in the same day. It was always a good time. Wish you luck on the tags.

11 years today, the loss of my best friend. Thinking of Waylon today.

I’m sorry for the loss of Waylon and how it has affects his family and friends. I obviously never met them but I have met his best friend and his kids and know he would be proud. I will raise one for Waylon today.

Weird sort of happy/solemn post wishing Dave a happy belated birthday and saluting the memory of Waylon. That was a tough year. I lost my brother who was Waylon's age and a buddy SFC Daniel Schiebner in Iraq who was also about Waylon's age. I keep their memories close. Life is fragile; everyday a gift.

I'm one of the coaches of our trap team. Our state shoot was the same day as MN. It was our first year and we only had a squad of 5. My boy and and 2 others shot 25 straights, but had some losses in other rounds. The team ended up missing 3rd by 1 bird. Not bad for a team of 5 going against 43 other teams with many times that amount. Everyone qualified for Nationals, but only a few are going because of work and vacations. The shoot is in Mason, MI about in the middle of the mitten. 50 fields I think.

There are some VERY good trap shooters out there that are barley old enough to shave. The one girl on our team took 2nd individually. She only took up the sport this year and can shoot as well as me and then some. Congrats to the MN trap competitors! These kids have my respect!
