I had a new safe delivered today, and while I was expecting a box truck, it came on a semi, so it wasn't able to back into my driveway and lower the tailgate into my garage. He had a pallet jack, but my driveway is 50' long and it increases 3' in elevation over the length, so we couldn't push or pull it as it weighs over 1000 lbs. I have a call in to an equipment company to get a forklift to drive it up, but they can't come out until Friday, and they want $300+ for a 5 min job. So now I'm sitting in my garage attempting to figure out how to rig some kind of box and tackle or come along setup to bring it up the driveway. I'll going to hit up a couple friends to come by and brainstorm, and hopefully we can come up with something, instead of drinking and other problem solving, but I thought I'd put the idea out to y'all to see if any of you can solve this puzzle... Thanks!

Pickup in the garage for anchor,
Snatch block,
Garden tractor pulling.
Pipes or dollies.
Those friends helping.
Hour or so, moved now hundred$ $aved.
Supper and beer for your movers.

If that don't work, what resources do you have?

If it is still on the pallet, put some skids underneath it. Some readily available dimensional size. Attach a rope to base or to skids and slowly drag it with your pickup truck. Or do something similar. Go slow, have help on hand to steady the safe and maintain upright position.

You could do the Easter Island thing and "walk" it up the driveway.

Get it off the pallet by laying it on its side. Cut about 6 pieces of 2" pvc pipe about as long as the safe is wide. Roll the safe up the hill on the pipe. You'll be surprised how easy it is to push.

Has some strong guys move two safes for me. They had a very heavy duty dolly. But it took a lot of muscle.
Im 67 and no way would I tackle that.

Well if I was you, I'd go sweet talk some good ole boys down at the local lumber yard. See if they will come out with the mudpuppy aka Princeton.

might be worth a shot

Stay on the grass strip up the middle.

My gravel driveway is 150 yards uphill. As long as I stayed on the grass strip, I could wind that old Harley up in second gear before I had to brake fer the garage.

Get off in the gravel, though,...I'd bust my ass.

Two medium sized guys, a box of golf balls, & roll on. One pushing, the other transferring spent balls from the back to the front.

The so called bad co. wouldn't notice if you parked that other thing you ride down the hill. The PBR you drink gets you a pass.

,...rode down to Ned's here while back,...had 4 or 5 Pabst Blue Ribbons then started talkin; with some young tattoo'ed folks.

Directly,...one of 'em stuck a joint in my face. I don't much indulge in that any longer,...but I hated to come off as insociable.

,....had a hell of a time gettin' home,...then had to listen to the woman bitch at me fer showin up all fugged up again.

She never stopped to realize that it was as nice as I ever get.

But I had a helluva time,...almost enough to make me keep my Harley.

Good folks show up at Ned's on Tuesday nights in Central Kentucky.
