Hey Gang,
Anyone out there have any experience with the Bergara line of rifles? A have a buddy that is considering one and he is looking for opinions on them. They appear to be very well made.

I like them. The HMR is the only one I shot and it seems to check all the boxes.

TG - 2 friends in Fl bought them in 6.5 Creedmoor. Well made and both were accurate. Not as slick and light as a Tikka but good rifles.

I have one in 308 right here. It's a fine rifle. No complaints.

I have a B-14 hunter model in 6.5 Creedmoor. Love it. Shoots 120 grain ballistic tips into 3/4" and initial results with 140 ELD-M look like it could be a 1/2" load. Ergos of the stock are fine, but I do wish it were more rigid as it isn't difficult to flex the forearm of the stock into the barrel. Pretty typical of a factory synthetic stock though. That is pretty much my only knock. I'm investigating options for a replacement stock.
Perhaps the guy at my favorite LGS summed it up best. He said, "The Bergara is essentially what the Remington 700 used to be, and what it still should be."
Don't speculate when you don't know, and don't second guess when you do.

I don't know why, but I want one. Does anyone know if the Bergara Ridge model has a heavier profile barrel than the B14?
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Yes, the Ridge model, which is also part of the B14 series, has a heavier barrel profile than the Hunter/Timber/Woodsman. They list the Ridge as a #5 contour and the others I named as a #3. I handled the Ridge model at my LGS recently. If I were choosing today, I'd take the Ridge. The stock is the same as the Hunter model, except for color.

I'm sure it's substantially more $$$ but take a look at the Premier Approach as well. #5 taper and includes a great stock, the Grayboe Terrain. Also made of stainless.
