Any locals in the Anchorage area who can recommend a taxidermist? I have a couple deer racks I would like to get mounted. Just moved up here with the AF, and don't have any experience with anybody yet.
Thanks for any help.

I take my stuff to Tundra Taxidermy in Big Lake (north of Wasilla). I too am in the AF and he has bent over backwards to help me out a couple times.Prices are right on with everyone else but turn-around time is about half.He also does excellent work.Hope this helps-Tim

Alaska Wildlife Studio in Anchorage does a good job for a reasonable price. I've only had moose done though. He's on 34th between Spenard and Minnesota.

I use Tall Tales Taxidermy. He does great work and fast turn around time, usually 6 mo or less. My wife has a half life sized Mt Goat already hanging on the wall that we took in Oct 2006. He is located on 4th ave. He has a huge showroom, go take a look for yourself.
