Hello Black Rifle Aficianados,

Was looking for bargains in AR magazines, and have seen several companies pushing ORANGE followers rather than GREEN, that seemed to be the rage a couple years ago.

What's with the "ORANGE" followers?


Are they as good as the GREEN mag followers? Perhaps 'better than?'

Should we stay away from GREEN followers?

I've had no problems at all with green followers in quality mags. However, I was at the range the other day and a buddy who shoots 3-Gun was showing me some mags with the orange follower and I must admit, you couldn't get one to cant, no mattter what! Straight down the inner mag it went everytime.

So...I just purchased 2 C-Product mags with orange followers and haven't had time to test them yet.

Don't have your answer, but the orange mags are gettin' a serious look by alot of AR owners, be they competitors or not.

I wouldn't switch my greens for oranges as I've way too many with the green followers, but more importantly....they work. Future purchases....we'll see how the orange ones work out on an extended gopher trip before making that decision. Hard to fault the greens when they've always performed flawlessly.

I picked up some of the C Products mags with the Orange Mag-Pul Gen II anti-tilt followers and they are all working perfectly. I think the color makes little difference, though the manufacturer does. Before the Mag-Pul version the green were the way to go as they were found to function more consistantly than others, as I recall. Anyway, of the 25 C-Products mags I bought, the 15 or so that I've function tested so far are 100% reliable.

Hopefully, others here have more concrete information about the Green/Other color differences.

I tried to tell ya'll about the magpul followers but no... LOL
