Found it on our Sunday morning walk. Hit this morning. Little guy. In a curvy section. Problem is the buzzards would find it and then we'd have a dead deer and dead buzzards in the road.

So I load it up and take it to a field up at the state park where the buzzards and coyotes can eat away.

Just after I dropped the carcass off and I'm pulling off the field the ranger pulls up.

Uh oh. I get out and tell him what I'm up to.

He says they just worry about folks driving on the field and thanks for doing that!

Made my day!

Sounds like a ranger with good common sense.

I've met very few bad ones.

An unemployed Jester, is nobody's Fool.

the only real difference between a good tracker and a bad tracker, is observation. all the same data is present for both. The rest, is understanding what you're seeing.

What a day. So later today a kid was flying up the same road in a BWM, went sideways into a tree in our back yard. Kid was okay just really shaken up. About 30 yards from where the deer was hit. I came down the deck to see if everything was okay. Heard a pop in my bad knee. Think I tore something in it. Now propped up with ice on it watching it swell.
