Awesome carbine,I own several Rugers this is now my favorite.almost 4000 handholds through it with no issues, except charging handle loosens after firing several hundred rounds. If you have one let me know your favorite load.My best so far is following, my shooting partner shot a 7 shot one and a quarter group at 100 yds.with following 124 gr.rainer h.p. 3.7 yrs of clays powder, fed.100 primer, c.o.l.1.110 av.velocity 1162 f.p.s.,next best 115 montana gold h.p. 4.7 yrs cfe-pistol,wsp primer, col 1.120 av 1102 5 rounds into 3 inches, around 3 inch groups have been the average with most handholds.took it p.d. hunting if I could get with in 100 yds. they were toast, wen't through 1000 rounds of the rainer h.p. load, great little gun.

Mine is a lot of fun to shoot. Almost no recoil. Accuracy has been OK but I have worked with only a couple of loads. I like mine a lot.

Only had mine a few weeks but I'm liking it even more than I did initially. First couple sessions were just informal plinking and today I did my first 25 yard paper punching off a rest and at that distance it was awesome. Was gonna do some 50 yd. targets but I got tied up chronographing a few different ammo brands & weights and comparing the results with the exact same ammo when fired out of my Glock 19. I was surprised that most of what I chrono'd didn't gain very much velocity over the Glock pistol when fired out of the Ruger carbine. But overall it's a lot of fun to shoot, and it's accurate enough to keep me smiling even with the standard sights. My 14 year old step grand daughter even gave it her seal of approval .

Anyone else out there have one? I was hoping to see some more feedback from owners by now. Or are they now hard to get? Shop I got mine from had gotten 4 of them and sold 'em all in a little over a week, IIRC. Guy who owns the shop says he can't say how long it will be before he's able to get any more. Maybe because he's a small operation and Ruger takes care of their high volume wholesalers first? But at least I'm glad I didn't hesitate on this one or I'd probably be out of luck for who knows how long? So are they getting scarce at FFL dealers?

I've liked mine OK but the fact that POI changed every time I broke it down was a bummer. I had my smith attach a piece of picatinny rail to where the rear sight was. I now have a red dot on that pic rail and no more zero problems. I can always go back to the original rear sight if I decide to sell it.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.
