What do you want to know?

I looked at it in 2004 as the 257 Ulgade (more of a 25-45 AI) and decide it would be much easier to build on the 204 Ruger case. I built a 25-204 in a bolt gun to make use of a small boltface action, if I had been working with a standard bolt face I'd have gone with a 250 Sav.(I already had a couple). With the increased interested in AR's the 25-223/25-45 has again emerged as another alternate round with the mag. length restriction of 2.260. While a nice round I would look at others for a round in that class in an AR(I assume AR as you asked in the AR section) as this round has about the smallest capacity trying to push larger bullets. A 6.5 Grendel makes more sense, if you wish to stay with the .257 , a 25 WSSM or wildcats 257 Grendel/lbc or 257 Nosler would make more sense.

I've got one in an AR.

It's a niche cartridge. It is what it is, .223 Rem necked up to .257. Loaded to max it will not duplicate no other cartridge other than the old 25-35 Win or the .25 Remington. It does come close to the .250 Savage, but doesn't have enough butt to hang with bigger cartridges.

Mine is accurate with low recoil. It kill's well due to those standards. I love quarter bores and most of my deer hunting is inside 200 yards so it works perfect for what I do. So will 30 other cartridges.....

Given the good bullets and standard fast-twist barrels, the Grendel seems to remain the best option for pumping up a standard AR without too much fuss. Saw an article on a very hot 7mm wildcat round, but the case-forming process was off-the-chart complicated. If it ever goes commercial or even proprietary, it would be a killer diller hunting round.

Found it, the 7mm Valkyrie. Pretty hot, if one can believe the specs, not far behind the 7-08. Uppers are available and supposedly someone is also forming brass from the parent 6.5x47 @ $1.60 a pop. Not an AR guy, but I can see this in say, a Howa Mini.
