Where does the Meostar R2 scope rank glass wise with other manufacturers, with the Swaro Z3 or Z5, a Leupold VX6 HD, Leica, or others in the $1,000 to $1,500 market? Thanks, DD

Better than Z3 for sure, better than Leica ER-5, haven’t compared side by side to a Z5 or VX6HD. I can say it blows a VX5HD out of the water. I own 2 of them, 1 MeoPro, 1 VX5HD, 1 Leica ER-5, 1 Leica ER-I, a couple Zeiss Conquest DL’s and a few older Leupolds and Nikons Buckmasters. In my opinion the R1 and ER-I are a close call for 1st place and the other would be 2nd. Some people would disagree with this but my 3rd place would be my DL’s followed by the ER-5, then the MeoPro or VX5HD.
I would definitely buy a Meostar R1 over a Swaro Z5 unless you are just looking for the name recognition/status and save myself $500. With the ER-I and the ER-5 being discontinued i dont know if or what Leica has to play in that price range any more. Again this is just my $.02.

Thanks, looking forward to giving it a try... I’ve had this Fieldcraft for probably 8 months and have been over analyzing and over thinking what scope to get, wanted one that would be very good in low light but didn’t want to get above a 44mm objective on such a small/light weight rifle (6.5 creed). Was torn if I wanted to give twisting turrets a try but in the end low light and holding zero are higher on the list.. I have a Z3 3-10x42 on my Kimber Mt 270 and if this scope is that much better than my Z3 than I am excited....

I have used a R1r 3-12x56 for the past few years in Alabama and it simply excels in low light. I have a Zeiss HT 2-10x50 on my 2nd rifle which is very impressive but really do not need it. I paid 650 for it 3 years ago on Ebay, it just came back from Meopta(11 day turnaround) to reattach the ocular rubber ring which became detached . They ran a full inspection on it and a written report. I could not be happier.
