They made 2 versions. One with a short tube and a longer tube, L series, version. Which ones are these?

Is it evident in the serial number? If not, then I will measure them later today and someone can answer if they know whether these are short or long models.

If they are VXIII and VX3 scopes as opposed to Vari XIII, I am pretty sure they will be the longer version as I think the "shorty" was only labeled/made as a Vari XIII. I could be wrong but that is what I remember or think I do anyway.

Actually I think I was wrong as the longer ones were the E Model and not the L series as I said. On the VX3 with the heavy plex, does it show the model of the scope on the Gold Ring around the front objective as 1.75-6x32E. If so, this is the longer version with lengthen tubes that make mounting much easier for correct eye relief.

How about trades for an adjustable objective Leupold, preferable an EFR model?

The E stands for extended iirc.
