Has anyone heard whether Ruger will be making a new batch of the American in 6.5 Creedmor? Was hoping to find one, but alas they have dried up.

Thanks.

Just saw a used one on GB a couple days ago.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

They only made them in the Predator model with the heavier barrel profile and factory Picatinny style rail, didn't they?

Not sure why they dropped the LH stainless guns, and more recently the RH stainless Americans. They sold well, thats for sure.

That's what I have. They also have a threaded barrel.

Glad I grabbed mine when I did. I waited through the drought last year with notification triggers set all over the place..

Thanks all. A couple of days days after I posted this I saw a lefty Tikka in 270 that called to me. The 6.5 will have to wait a bit longer. smile

Oh brother. You're gonna catch hell for buying a 270. That's worse than the CM to some here...

No worries... He can always load the .270 DOWN to 6.5CM speeds... A starting load of H4895 under a 130gr pill will almost get you there... wink

Yeah, they also dropped the lefty compacts. I found a lefty stainless compact in .308 on gunbroker last night for $350 and snagged it up for a beater rifle. Life is not so good right now for a dude wanting a stainless lefty bolt unless you want a Tikka or a Savage for just under 800 bones.

I hope Ruger updates, or otherwise improves the magazines on these. My rifle is one of the most accurate rifles I've owned, including a handful of customs, but the magazine is not very reliable at all. It's just a range toy in its current state.

Call Ruger and have them send you a new magazine, the later rotary mags work well.

I appreciate the suggestion, Sir. However, I'm on the wrong side of the 49th. Which leads to goverment induced complications in regards to firearms and warranty/service. 😉

I may call anyways. Won't hurt to see what they say.

Cheers.
