I hauled enough corn stalks to our daughter in a larger city so she could put a shock on the lawn for decoration.

Five of them bundled together for six bucks around here. Just stand them up next to the pumpkins outside the front door.

I've put them together in the past for fall decoration, and they are poplar. I saw one the other day, and I swear those were the tallest corn stalks I've ever seen. They looked 12 feet tall.

I bought a farm that had a McCormick-Deering corn binder stored in the alley of a corn crib. Wanted to get it up and running but was too far gone. Sold it for parts.

We see Amish farming when we drive in Minnesota west of the Sauck Centre area.

When the weather's hot and sticky

That's no time for dunkin' dicky

When the frost is on the punkin'

THAT'S the time for dicky dunkin'
