I have an opportunity to buy a Super Sniper maybe but it does not have the emblem on the side nore does it have SWFA on it anywhere. The dealer says he bought it unmounted from an individual along with a Rem 700 220 Swift & rings he had on the table, no boxes for any. It sure looks like one to me.
This is stamped in the tube starting with 10X42, under that Waterproof, then below that SS10X42, then AU and the last and on the bottom JAPAN.
Anyone know? Thanks

Maybe one built for sale elsewhere? Throw it off a cliff and see if it comes up smiling.
What fresh Hell is this?

90+ degrees is a little hot for cliff climbing even for a Super Chicken but thanks for the wonderful advise.

Call SWFA tomorrow and ask them. Yes, I will likely do just that but the dealer is a good ways off but today at a local show

Honestly, unless the price is such that I wouldn’t be too pissed abt a knockoff, I’d personally pass. They are relatively inexpensive new from SWFA, so I would not chance buying a knock unless a screaming deal.

Now that I think about it, this may be one of the older ones when Tasco had them.

I had one like that. The response I got was that it was an early model, built when they acquired the whole deal. It came in a plain white box. Not one Issue with it. MOA / Mil 10X if I recall.
Guys would ask "what kinda scope is that?" I'd tell them top secret government contract. No markings like when Ford and Chevy paint their prototypes in all black.
"Oh......."

Moa/Mil were more plentiful than Moa/Moa or Mil/Mil scopes in the late 1980s - early 1990s. Never made sense to me.
