Yeah, I know.
It just took me 30 minutes to get the strap off the starting battery box on my big boat !
Away she goes into barn storage.
Can't feel my fingers !!

I'm on the fence about the boat. I have a lot of time in Nov off. I'm hoping to maybe pull a few walleyes out of the lake before the ice comes. With these temps we're having though, I may need to shut her down next weekend.

I've got a 12' & a 14' that I can still play with. But it's looking less likely.

My boat is primarily a duck boat and won't come out until mid-December. It's not without its perils. Once when the launch was frozen, I backed the trailer onto the ice to break it up so I could launch at O dark thirty. Yep, broke the ice and both tail lights. Took it out in a blizzard and freezing rain. The salt that the road crews put down ate through ALL the wiring during layup. $600 later and all is well. <sigh>
All I do to winterize is fog it and change the lower unit oil to get the water out, if any.
Headed up north in the am for the northern opener Sat. Pretty excited. Sometimes a man just needs to get away.

There is really not much to it and some folks pay $100’s of dollars to have it done for them. It takes about 1/2hr to 1hr. I’d be pretty happy if we got this rain to stop for a few days. Good grief!

Well, I just couldn't stand it any longer. I sneaked down to the man cave this morning and started digging through my gear getting stuff in order for gun season. I have some pretty big boots to fill. Dad always started "the pile" in the dining room at least a month before deer season, and still managed to find a way to forget his ammo. Mrs. Cornelius owned the little general store in Sabula Pa. and always set aside a box of 300 Savage ammo just for Dad, as she knew without a doubt he'd be in for it, and many years he was. Dad used to swap her a deer heart for a box of shells. She really liked deer heart. When we went through Dad's gear after he passed, there were about 10 boxes of 300 Savage with one round shot out of them. He was a good shot, and if there were two empties, it meant he got a second deer.

Congrats Dave and Pam! I saw that on Facebook. Does that mean she is officially off the payroll?
