I have an old M7 4X myself, have never seen another and it has never caused me any problems. In fact it is presently mounted on my 257 Roberts. Do you have any idea when they were made?

One thing Leupold does better than anyone is build a light scope. I'm seriously considering a 2.5x20 for a Marlin 1894C, since I'm at the age where my peepers ain't so good anymore.

That is true, but they do stock some of their obsolete parts anyway. If you tell them you really want your old purple scope repaired instead of replaced, they will do it.

yes they fixed for me a m8 2.5x20 and a 4x28 but cannot do anything on a m8 3x and another 4x28 so got new scopes for those old ones ... i dealt with the USA as the Canadian Leupold did not want to hear about them ....

You didn't use logic or reason to get into this opinion, I cannot use logic or reason to get you out of it.

I recently had to send back an older M8x4x28 and shortly afterwards an M8x3x20. Leupold repaired the M8x4x and sent it back to me. I haven't heard anything from them on the 3x to date. On the 4x they replaced the broken reticle, reworked the erector, replaced the windage and elevation adjustments. Seems like a lot of work to do on an older scope. No offer of a replacement.

Nah. The set and forget Leupolds crap out with alarming regularity, too.

I heard from Leupold on the M8 3x. They won't repair the scope. I was given the choice of a Freedom 1.5x4x or an Fx II 4 or 6 power scope. I opted for the fx II 6x.
