It would seem to me these devices could be easily found and destroyed. So could Canada. My grand parents came from farms in Exira IA and Franklin IL to farm in Canada in 1905 to farm in Canada. Our families still farm here. I don't think they would have liked to see Canada destroyed. I have been in their home towns and met with our relatives. Have you left the county lately ???

They have some world class shooters. I'm glad we're on the same side. We should keep it that way. Their current PM, Justin Trudeau, is a certified Post-Marxist, Neo-Marxist commie. He is not our friend. JT is a buffoon. He is an idealogue. JT is nobody's friend but JT's

antelope sniper; Good evening to you sir, I hope the day treated you acceptably and this finds you well. While my fellow countryman AB2506 has already tilled this soil, I'll reiterate and expand just a tad on that statement. We have no electoral college - in my lifetime we had a federal Liberal government with no elected representatives west of Winnipeg - zero.... No, it didn't go well for us in the west either during those years as they - the ones who elected the government, made sure the backwoods westerners paid for their truculence. The GNP of my home province, BC is - last time I read the stats on it - exceeds all the Atlantic provinces combined - but of course the country was set up back when there were only 100's of us out west and the elected representative imbalance is still there, albeit somewhat improved. Our current Prime Minister - Mr Dressup - and many of the key cabinet members absolutely do not have Canada's best interest at heart - well perhaps I should clarify that they likely believe they know what's best for us barbarians out west and are happy to force it on us. Anyway - speaking from personal experience, we've reconsidered our choices in leadership plenty - and spent both time, funding and energy trying to obtain a different outcome. Please don't ever believe anything other than that is the case. Thanks for reading and all the best to you this fall. Dwayne

[ Our military is not very big, but some of our equipment is world class, while others is dated.
The Canuck Officer may have believed that a force of equal size, the Canadians would win. Why? In those Top Gun competitions, it is not uncommon for a Canadian pilot to win it while flying a 40 year old CF18 (Hornet). Also, on some joint exercises, it is not uncommon for Canadian regular army to defeat US Army Rangers. Where we would get our asses handed to us would be when armor is introduced. While we have upgraded to Leopard II, they are no competition for the M1 Abrams. We do have LAVs, (we make them), but that is not enough.
Let's face it, Canada is dependent on the USA to defend us. That does not mean that our small forces are not competent and fight above their weight.
No he made it known our entire military would loose to theirs. And sure skill and as he put it better discipline take you to the next weight class maybe a few. But at least 500k hunters in MN means only 15% would have to show up to make it a fair fight, and being shot in the pecker for taking a piss in my Great Uncles back 40 with a .270 AI at 500 yards would be a hit below the belt especially for Fire members lol

Canada is the best neighbor any country could ever have and America is that fortunate country . We need to build on our commonality not fight upon our differences. Both Nations are up against the new world order of a one world government.

What if Hilary had won and people threw that name your face as though you had something to do with it? It's the same with our friends to the North. JT is a commie [bleep] and he is their PM but that doesn't mean every Canadian voted for him. We have many friends up there stil...

Dwayne I equate Your "Mr well dressed" to our electing "The Big Zero". it wasn't done by sane Canadians as Zero wasn't done by sane Americans. I would estimate a vast number of city dwelling Canadians dislike Americans just as a vast number of city dwelling Americans could give a schit less about you Canadians. We share a lot of the same problems. Lol, BTW, Has anyone ever been pissed at you.............

Dwayne Dwayne, I have great respect for the good people of Canada, especially their fighting forces. Unfortunately, many in both our countries failed to resist the allure of Marxist ideology. I had no idea your system of representation's so broken in your country. As you suggested, our Senate and electoral college serve as a bulwark in our country against the tyranny of the masses. It regrettable this vision escaped the founders of your country. To use your nickname for him, Mr. Dressup's cozying with the Chi-Com as the expense of the security of the U.S Ballistic fleets serves the long term interest of neither of our counties. Hopefully this article's over stated the risks and they really are just listening for whales.

Only criticism of the Canucks from my viewpoint is the terrible choices made by their voting block.
Then again, the US has no room to talk in that regard. They no worse than California. Looks what gets elected on the Left Coast... There are some great people in Cancda. I know some who I would welcome in my camp anytime. And, I'd get the same welcome from them. There are left leaning snowflakes everywhere, enough to go around. We have our share; they are likewise "blessed" with their share... DF

With one exception, Canadians are great people.
And their beer is actually pretty awesome. Can't make whiskey for schitt, but I haven't found an exported Canadian beer I didn't like.

antelope sniper; Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.
Indeed the allure of the Marxist left has been the siren call for many of my countrymen who want something for nothing or next to it. Nothing would make them happier than to share what I've worked a lifetime for - but obviously not all of us who are in the "paying" category are enthused about this.
For sure the electoral process is flawed beyond the point of silliness - in my opinion.
They've changed how the elections are called now, but not that many years ago after Ontario and Quebec polls closed they'd go on the national news channels and call the election. This was of course hours before we'd gotten off work in BC to go vote.
Again too, I alluded to the provinces which pay for our federal system and those which take. In the last few decades, the resource rich west has been paying into the pot and not receiving an equal share of Federal transfer payments back. That's why the good folks in Alberta took it particularly hard when the leftist government currently in power here in BC stopped the proposed pipeline.
The Federal Liberals of course made all sorts of noise that they'd support Alberta, but have done absolutely nothing of substance in that regard.
As you noted, I have great respect for the armed services in both our countries and would opine that when they have fought together against a common foe it's been some of our finest moments.
Anyway sir, I too hope that we're just listening for earthquakes - had one this morning off the west coast of Vancouver Island so I heard. We have a daughter living there and it's always a tough moment for a parent when our kids are in harms way or potentially so.
Thanks again for reading and taking the time to listen to our viewpoint on the subject.
All the best and good luck on your hunts this fall too.
Dwayne

Antelope, perhaps you missed my earlier post on this thread, the Canadian Government has nothing to do with the placement of these Chinese listening devices. It is a private research group, loosely attached to the University of Victoria, which studies the oceans. I'm sure the idiots think that the Chinese offered these devices out of the goodness of their heart to study the ocean, or earthquakes. The Chinese wouldn't lie and use them for another motive would they? Maybe Feinstein's driver set it up?
