our atmosphere down here on urth is not conducive to receiving galactic radio.

As you point out...theres enough in the regular 'orthodox' belief array of Bibles to make a play and have people
rolling in laughter in the aisles no less.

yet Mormons are even a punching bag for many christians...christians who think their own wacky adopted beliefs
have a higher validity...such is the widespread ludicrously of religion.

Christians with competing fantasies about God have been putting crap on other differing christians for two millennia.

well, Starman, economics has now entered the picture and come into play for better or worse.

halloween and christmas are two equally important days for the old religion and for christians.

but, now the merchants, marketeers and mfg'ers have entered the arena. money is important.

i wish we could make dec 21, the day of the rising sun as the important holiday for observation.

but, that'd likely bankrupt any number of small entreprenuers who depend upon the seasonsss.

We saw it three or so months ago and laughed our azzes off.

Economics and self interest driven motives as a driving force behind mans mental construct called 'God' has been
going on for much longer than many christians like to admit.

i can't disagree. just saw a quote, once again that the love of money is the root of all evil.

ok, then why do the various churches, etc. etc. pass the plate on occasion?

what we've got here is a complex situation that deserves our attention.

Whats a papist?

Theres no doubt many christians will fight to the death to defend their objective money /material wealth
and position in the pecking order of society ..yet then try to convince you its their subjective faith that
that really sustains them...LOL.

They really try to ignore where Jesus tells the wealthy man to give all that he has to the poor
and come follow Jesus...christians who cannot do that seem to love money more than they love God,
which is in clear breach of the highest commandment given by Jesus.

How does a backwoods country bumpkin, in the early 1800's, write hundreds of pages of doctrine, government systems, and histories of wars in a manner of months?

I've read letters from the man, written after he wrote the Book of Mormon, and the man could hardly compose a full sentence.

You've seen the play, maybe you really should read 10 pages of that book and ask yourself my question above...
