I am waiting for a 1919 1899 250-3000 to arrive and was wondering if there were cases made to carry the rifle after it was taken down? I will be looking for something to protect it while in vehicles that takes up the least amount of space. If all things work out the rifle will be predator deterrence on a sheep farm.
Thanks

I've been using soft takedown cases intended for shotguns for years to transport my takedowns. Both Boyt and Uncle Mike's make dandy ones, Uncle Mike's being about half the cost of the Boyt.

That is a great idea. I wouldn’t have thought of that. Thanks

Check out Jeffs Outfitters. They have both hard and soft cases for take down lever actions. I have a canvas and leather case from them and think that it is a good value and well made.

Thanks, Mike. I checked them out and was pleased by what I saw.

Or... Look for a vintage "Leg of Mutton" hard leather case as used from the 20's to 40's, usually hand crafted of the finest leather. You can sometimes find them in pawn or antique shops for little money, as the black rifle crowd has no use for them. This "new one" was $275 at Jeff's Outfitters (now sold out) -- very nice, but pricey!! Old No7

+1 on the Uncle Mike's takedown case, it is a very nice quality case. I used one for my Winchester M/61 & M/63, plenty of room and very adequate protection.
