I, too, used to go to the games as a kid in the early 60's: Mays, McCovey, Marichal, Cepeda. A great team. I remember their arch enemy, the Dodgers, who had Drysdale, Koufax, and Maury Wills. They played some epic games against each other.

I also remember how amazed I was to find out that Willie Mays had signed a contract for the stupendous sum of $100,000 per year.

Man, have times changed.

Yes. I remember Joe Namath making $400,000 per year at one point when he was near his peak. Now that is one game for some of the pros, isn't it? Now he is selling stuff on TV.
