I'm a big 7mm08 fan and have been thinking of adding one in the Barrett Fieldcraft, but I'm a little concerned about the 1 in 8" barrel twist. I know that works well for heavier rounds, but how will it stabilize lighter choices like the Nosler BT 120gr, which is one of my favorite whitetail rounds?

In general, what weight bullets work best with this twist rate? Any real world experience with accuracy of the various weights?

Any advice is appreciated.

Mine will shoot the 120’s under an inch all day. There is nothing to be concerned about. Over-twisting a barrel is usually a problem for super fast rounds with thin jacketed and light for caliber bullets.

Enough already, just shoot it!

Thanks. That’s good to know. I might just have to pull the trigger on one.
