Are the new production camo pachmayr N Frame grips as good as the older stuff? Or should I keep watching for a used pair?

Tom

These work well for me. But, if you're shooting hot loads, they're not going to protect you from the back of that trigger guard.

Are these old or new production? They would be going on a 624 44 special, so no barn burning loads in them. I typically just shoot them with factory target grips but they are getting more expensive and the set I have on that particular gun has checkering that feels like a file. So I need some rubber grips for field use and actual shooting.
Those are nice pieces right there.

Tom

Tom,
I haven’t experienced the new CAMO Pachmayr but I can say I’ve shot the old and new of the black ones and see no difference.
I’m glad to hear they brought them back. I think they’re awesome.

Some of the new Pachmayr's I have tried have seemed greasy and didn't fit all that well. Which is too bad, as I prefer Pach's to Hogue's monogrip all day long.
In any event, I ordered up a set from Ebay that will go on my 4" 624 44 special. I will post up a pic when they show up.
Regards,
Tom

Many thanks. I am going to shoot it some tomorrow with the new handles on it.
I tore it apart today as the double action pull was terrible. Came to discover that the pin that holds the sear to the hammer, was not seated all the way and dragging on the side plate every time you cocked it. A couple of taps with a brass drift and hammer and it's like a brand new pistol.
I bought it off the forum here a couple of years ago and haven't really shot it, so it's finally time to run some hot lead through it.
Regards,
Tom
