Looking at a 1940-41 MARLIN "1936" 30/30 LEVER " B" series. Condition is approximately 90-92% with great case hardening color. Would like an opinion from some of the more knowledgeable forum members here as to what is a fair price to pay for one of these and would like to know if these are somewhat of a rare find. I passed on one in 32 Special for $575. Got my head on straight and went back the next day. Gone.

They are rare enough you will likely never come across another. If you liked it I hope you grabbed it.

My LGS has a first variation for $599, BUT it has a side mounted scope . I bought my "B" series 1936 .32 Special for $375 about 10 years ago. The one thing I don't care for is that I can't mount a peep sight on it without D&T-ing the receiver. The tang is D&T but it was shortened from the 1893 so a Lyman tang sight will be struck by the bolt.
