Doug, how does the Geovid HD-R 10x42 compare to the Nikon Rangefinder Binocs you sell that has the $200 rebate going on right now as far as glass quality and RF function? Is this a duh, no-brainer, because it's a Leica it's got to be better?

The Leica is superior optically. Yes, noticeably, however, rangefinder wise to the HD-R they'd be similar

Yes, the warranty on the Nikon is a superior warranty.

Knowing what you guys know now, which unit would you go with? It appears to me the options are a Nikon with complete warranty for $1K, or a demo Leica with a limited warranty for $1,500. What is your preference? I am going to pull the trigger on one of these.

The Leica HD-B is a far superior unit. What makes the Leica so amazing is:

Advanced Ballistic Compensation

Equivalent Horizontal Range mode calculates horizontal distance to target

Point of Aim mode displays the holdover compensation in centimeters

Impact Point Correction mode calculates elevation adjustment in MOA / MRAD clicks

Inclinometer measures the shooter's angle of inclination relative to the target

Barometer and thermometer measure ambient atmospheric conditions

Zeroing distance is programmable in 100 yd / m increments

12 pre-loaded ballistics curves corresponding to load caliber, type, weight

Alternative ballistics curves can be stored and uploaded using the microSD card

ABC values are derived from the set zeroing distance and ballistics curve, atmospheric readings, target's angle of inclination and measured distance

Regarding the demo Noctivids; how does their USA Leica Warranty compare to NIB/non-demo ones?

NIB is 1st 3 years no fault followed by lifetime parts and labor

Demo is 10 years parts and labor, however, with new being 40% more, IMO, it's worth the difference for the demo.
