GSP. Shes a loving crybaby sweetheart that turns to strictly business in quail country where she has no time to pay me any mind.

You better hide that pup. He is the clone of my best ever passed on pup.
God I loved that dog.

Without a dog now, hope one will find me soon. Like spring. Loved them all but my favorite was Larry Brittany. Had him from a puppy. The most loving, greatest desire to please, of the bunch. He was like my constant companion stuffed dog Pow come to life.

Have a seventeen year old beagle. Has been the best dog we have had by far. In the last 18 months of so he has really slowed down and sleeps a lot. However he is happy, can make it down the lane and back, almost a mile round trip, then takes a couple hour nap. He has an old man bladder, when awake, he goes in and out of the house about every fifteen minutes. At night he can only make it to the garage to go on training pads, scared a coyote will get him.

Rex will be our last dog.

Mtn Cur and GSP.

I love em both dearly even though the GSP at 15YO is putting me through a lot of grief lately.

I live in the Colorado Rockies so our dogs have to be able to fend off bears and mountain lions that get through the dog fence. We have four dogs, A border collie and St Bernard mix, a Belgian Sheepdog, a Tri-Colored Collie and a German Shepherd. All protective herding breeds. It is what works for us. A few years ago in winter the mountain lions killed about 16 dogs in my canyon. Some were walked by owners on a leash and the mountain lion came out of the woods and grabbed the dog and ripped the leash out of the owner's hand. Bears are a problem in summer and mountain lions are a problem in winter. I always carry a firearm that is up to the job and keep my HD shotgun loaded with slugs in summer and buckshot in winter.

Favorite dog?

The one I had killed a few years ago.

I have a couple English Shepard crosses now that are a poor facsimile.

Not bad...but nowhere near close to my old dog. She was an Aussie/Border Collie.

A yellow lab, black lab and German shorthair. They’re all great dogs but the German is the red headed stepchild. He’s an absolute sweetheart but clumsy and needy are his strongest traits.

I’ll have a lab until the day I die. My yellow lab, Kenai, is my buddy and can go anywhere with me without needing a leash as she’ll never be further than at my side. Her focus is always on me and she couldn’t care less if there’s 100 other dogs around, she’ll be at my side looking up at me for direction. I’ve grown up with a golden retriever by my side and love them dearly but my labs are special.....special needs retarded at times but special nonetheless. 😁

Right now we have a cocker spaniel and a beagle/cocker mix. The full cocker ain't much of a hunter but he's a great companion. The beagle mix is an amazing hunter and the smartest dog I've ever had. She hunts rats and coons, though, so not quite the hunting that I do. Recently lost an American Water Spaniel who loved to hunt but was spooked by gunshots, making for a hit or miss pheasant season. Best all around dog was the chocolate lab that passed in 2011. He was a gentle giant and a great hunter. He only showed his teeth twice in his life...both times when other dogs were coming at me. First time he t-boned a German Shepard that lunged at me in a dog park in Oakland, second time was when he took out an Akita that decided I was lunch (again, in Oakland).

The last 6 years is the first I've been without an akita since 1976. The only way I know to improve the breed would be if they didn't blow their coat. Brittany s also. Bought one for my son and then babysat her for 5 years. Great little dogs too.

The most hated breed.

She's a little relaxed.
