Up for sale is a 1981 Remington 700 Varmint Special in 7mm-08 caliber. Rifle is in Very Good + condition with a bright and shiney bore. Has factory trigger,original wood stock has been recently bedded with marine-tex gray.

Sweet! How does it shoot? Is that the butt plate rem put on those?

Yes, that's the factory original buttplate and it shoots very well, under an inch at 100 yds with the cheap Rem 140 gr SP Core Lokt.

For those that reload, I also have 99 pcs. of new Winchester unprimed brass that can be included along with some misc. 7mm bullets,dies,etc.

And I was just thinking the other day how seldom a Nice Varmint Special shows up on here anymore. GBOB you just bought a sweet rifle. I have one and it aint going nowhere, along with 7 other Varmint Specials.

Very cool! I have one of these in .243, and it is an absolute tack driver. Normally my go to coyote gun, but this fall my daughter got her venison hat trick with it. No recoil to worry about. She got a doe (first deer) during the youth season and a nubbin and a 9pt buck during the regular gun season.

7-08 is the only varmint special I haven’t owned, I’ve only seen a few of them for sale and always when I didn’t have the $$
