Richard, it cooled off and froze up here this week so we put out straw for our calves as well.


We have a bunch of straw that went through a 'new' combine and we'll run that stuff in a processor as extra feed bedding for the cows.

We also have some for the calves that went through a conventional combine(JD 8820?) and we can roll that out with the pickup. That stuff actually rolls out 2-3" inches thick and one bale will go a long way unlike the shredded straw that basically explodes when you go to roll it out.
