Anyone running Zpacks tents? Are they strong enough to last several years or are they paper mache?

It depends on just how committed you are to going ultralightweight. You can definitely reduce the weight of your wallet by buying a zpacks tent. crazy

Dyneema/Cuben Fiber is pretty rugged. But I'd still use a Tyvek footprint under it.

I'm eyeing Tarptent's new Aeon Li... IMO a better design than Zpacks Plexamid. I suspect TT will offer a single wall 2P tent soon. They do make a DW, the StratoSpire Li.

Love my Duplex but they’re not bombproof. 22 oz palace for 1 person.

I think they are pretty awesome - and very weather resistant and durable. Cuban fiber is also incredibly easy to repair - and once the tent is taut it does not sag when it gets wet or the temperature changes. BUT they are also tents for people who have done a lot of lightweight camping. They need to be set up correctly and if you don't vent properly you'll get soaked inside (ie do not close them up tight with the walls to the ground). My biggest complaint with cuban fiber shelters is that while light weight they do not actually pack up all that tight. They are kind of bulky.
