Does the shim kit in inertia autoladers change point of impact a few inches or just take care of gross fit up issues?
I'm patterning my Franchi affinity 12 gauge for turkey hunting and the pattern center is off. It was a dicks loss leader that didn't come with shims so I am debating on buying shims or rib iron sights.
Opinions guys?
Thanks in advance.

Based upon body build and personal mounting technique, it will be trial and error. I think you will need the he set. What I did several years ago, with my Benelli was that I measured the drop and cast for my old Superposed twenty, and matched it. iThat worked well enough that I hand crafted shims for my 870 giving the same cast ( drop was OK) to match the other two. I can now switch between the three guns and not miss anymore than normal.

What way is the pattern off ? About 4 inches off about 4:30 direction. At 25 yards on a bench using a sand bag under the forearm

I would suggest trying a different choke first. It's not uncommon to have a bad one regardless of make. Good luck.

If you’re shooting the gun off bags and a bench, aiming it like a rifle with just the beads, the shims won’t do you a bit of good. For wing shooting, it can change your point of impact, as it changes the gun to fit you better when you mount it.
Oh, and believe it or not, deer bite. Fairly hard.

If your front bead is huge you can get a smaller one that will bring poi up too.
