Is the 32 Remington a similar case to the 35 Rem? The clever .25 and .35 additions were simply necked down and necked up variations on the same cartridge case. . This is not totally true. The .25,.30, &.32 Remington rimless were all based off the same case with a .422" case head. The .35 is it's own animal at .460". I've formed .35 Rem from LC.308 and the others from 30-30.

I had one in 30 rem for about 10 years or so. Never shot it and eventually sold it.

Over built in my opinion. I had a .35 141 and it was a chunk of steel. Friends have had the 14's and they are much lighter, but those were in the .30 and .32 Remington and try to find factory ammo for those two. I never thought that a .35 Remington brush gun needed a 24" barrel, so I had mine cut and re-crowned to 20", but it still weighed more than I wanted. The slide rattled and I was glad to see it go.
My other auto is a .45

Is the 32 Remington a similar case to the 35 Rem? The .30 and .32 Remington were Big Green's rimless answer to Winchester's .30-30 WCF and .32 Winchester Special. They were ballistically identical. The rimless feature was to enhance their feeding in the Remington Model 8: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remington_Model_8The clever .25 and .35 additions were simply necked down and necked up variations on the same cartridge case. The most successful of the bunch was probably the .35. The Model 8 in .300 Savage was a favorite of law enforcement and prison guards; it was virtually a .308 Winchester carbine. Uhh, nope. The 35 Rem is overall a much larger cartridge, sharing (I think) the.473 diameter head of the 30-06 and 308. Eta, I stand corrected at .460 The 25, 30, and 32 Remington were based on a smaller diameter case. The only real way to make brass for these is to turn the rims off of 30-30.

You are correct. This is the first of any of aforementioned four Remington proprietary cartridges that I have owned, and I’ve never handloaded for any of them. I should have researched my reply more thoroughly.

Setting nostalgia aside for a minute...the 14 on hand is drilled correctly (without additional exploratory shafts) and a Trijicon 1-4x24 with an amber diamond reticle mounted on it, makes it a dynamite combo for tracking--if you do that kind of thing. If you do, you know the shots can come fast, sometimes very close and pinpoint accuracy is seldom at the forefront of the equation. Yes, it looks weird, but so does a guy carrying an AR...
ya i agree. i bought an abused 14R in 30 rem some years back and let it sit around until i had time to fix it up. i sent the metal off to my gunsmith who did an excellent job of reblueing without over polishing and i fixed and refinished the wood. it looks factory new from about 3 feet away. it had been properly drilled and tapped at some point and came with two piece weaver mounts. i dug up a vintage lupe 2-7x32 compact and mounted it and it is one fine shooting and handling little gun. it does look a little goofy with the scope and the straight stock and 18" barrel but not too bad. those carbines are so small you can practically shoot them like a handgun. my favorites by far.

Hard to tell from the pics, put does your 141 have the 'requisite' beginning of cracks on the top of the stock where it meets the receiver? Seems like every 141 I've ever had eyes on had those cracks. They seem to always be directly in line with the two screws that would secure a tang sight. I got lucky with my 141, 35 Rem it is lacking those cracks.
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

Rem:
Was thinking a small red dot of some persuasion would be the ticket on a 14r for a quick little carbine. The sample on hand is a really nice one--near mint, and although I usually have no qualms molesting so-called collectible pieces, drew the line on this one...:)

ya i may switch my red dot off the AR one of these days to the 14'R and see how it works. seems kind of sacrelgious but it would probably work great.
