That seems a bit stout i was thinking more on the lines of 60 grains of F2. I do have close to 2lbs of Swiss 1 1/2 and use it in my Black powder turkey shotgun!

Was pullin' your chain a bit. What bullet weight? If you want a plinker give some thought to a round ball with a little soft lube smeared on, or be creative and use a cloth patch. Use some felt or cork wads to fill the void. You don't want air space in the case w/BP. WAG on my part, but something around 40-45 grains of 2f under a round ball would be some sport and still pretty much knock the crap out of hogs and such. https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/pro...-177-grains-490-diameter-090255260908.doHornady makes some .480" balls that with a patch of .015" thickness would probably work dandy. https://www.trackofthewolf.com/List/Item.aspx/127/2

In my Shiloh sharps 50/70 I shoot a 425 grain bullet over RL-7 powder. I do not have the grains of powder at hand, but believe it’s 35.0. If you are interested in the load, pm me and I’ll find it and let u know

Trail Boss will work fine. I have a pretty little contender pistol with an 8 inch 45/70 barrel and maple wood. 12 grain TB under a 340 gr Gould HP does right at 1000fps. Should work fine in a 50/70 pistol too. Easy to shoot.
